Home Run Derby 2012

For those of you who didn't know, The Home run Derby was last night and some interesting things happen. Robinson Cano was captain for the AL squad and in the middle of pick his team he said he was going to pick the Royals DH Billy Butler and then he didn't and I don't think the KC fans didn't like that. So when he was batting they would boo him and then cheer when he didn't hit a home run. He ended up getting 0 home runs last night. I didn't mind the booing but it ended up being too. If felt like the fans still booing David Stern at the end of the 1st round of the NBA Draft. But I don't think the fans did anything wrong though.
Prince Fielders win his 2nd home run derby and is the 2nd player to win multiple home run derby's joining Ken Griffey Jr. Great class to be in I might add. A player like Fielder loves being in this competition and he knows this is time for baseballs fans who aren't big fans to see his power and he can put a great show for the fans. Me personally I don't like the home run derby but happy for Prince

Worth the money?

Today Blake Griffin agrees to a 5 yr/95 million contract extension and my first expression was WOW. Kevin Durant new contract was 5 yr/86 million. His Griffin worth more than KD, i think not! Don't get me wrong he's a very athletic player and can jump out of the gym but when ever at OU and now with the clippers has ever shown he will have good 15 foot jumper or doing anything else great, NEVER. He got the deal because he's no doubt a seat filler and he just might have a better numbers because he has CP3 as his point guard. I'm not disagreeing with the Clipppers resigning him but for that much, I dunno. I also can look at it this way, the Clippers probably had no choice because they wouldn't want him to hit free agency and have all these outrageous offers and then he leaves and go somewhere else. I just don't think he's in that LeBron, KD, Rose, DWill etc pay range. Franchises always make bad deals and then the team is looking crazy at the end of the day.

Is "loyalty" and "traitor" thrown around too much?

Ever since Ray Allen decided to go to Miami as a free agent i might add, he's gotten a lot slack about. He's been called a traitor all over the place in the NBA universe. I've been listening and thinking about the comments about him and i don't think people realize he did nothing at all. First of all the Heat aren't a rivalry to the Celtics, their just a team that has beaten them last two years in the playoffs. Rivalry is Lakers vs Celtics or Bulls vs Knicks. Hating the Miami Heat is just the now thing to hate as of now and that will change in the next couple of years anyway. Allen wasn't drafted or came to Boston as a free agent, he was traded from Seattle to Boston and guess what he gave them 4 years, 2 finals appearance, and 1 title. So, people are asking "wheres the loyalty?" What loyalty? The Celtics weren't loyal with him either, they tried trading him the last two years, lost his starting spot, and they went and signed Jason Terry. Loyalty goes both ways but guess what this is a business. He has all the right to go play with the one of the best players in the league, for less money, and a chance for another ring at the age of 36. As fans we get so caught up on the word loyalty but forget this a business and when you're a a free agent, you can do anything you want to do whats best for you. You can't make everybody happen when making those decisions in your life.
